The remote settlement of Chumchet is located at the entrance to the Tsum Valley, at an altitude of 3200 metres above sea level, close to the Tibetan border. The nearly 400 villagers provide for themselves through barter trade and simple agriculture.
Only a few months after the earthquake, Earth C-Air was able to rebuild the school building for the 40 children. Since 2016, we have also engaged a local teacher for school lessons.
To reach Chumchet it is necessary to plan 5 days from Kathmandu (one day bus, four days walk).
